Cleaner Water Healthier Lives
Saving Food Saves Lives
SurfPlasma is funded by NSF SBIR project to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Over 165 B dollar is wasted in wasted food every year. Even a fraction of this food can greatly help world hunger. Also, over 60% of the cost of food transportation and storage is spent in refrigeration causing huge carbon foot print. Extending shelf life of food with less refrigeration in an environmentally conscious fashion will greatly benefit our society.
TECHNOLOGY
Funded by non-dilutive SBIR research programs of National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SurfPlasma eliminates pathogens and allergens that cause illness and disease. Competing technologies can be expensive, difficult to use and damaging to materials being cleaned. Our devices safely destroy viruses, bacteria, fungi, allergens, mites, smoke and odors. Lightweight and rugged, they can sanitize a wide range of settings, including healthcare and hospitality facilities, as well as homes.
